Car Accident Chiropractor in Matthews, NC

Welcome To Chiropractic Injury Center

Seek chiropractic treatment after being in a car accident.
Even a minor crash can cause long term damage to your body. One of the most common injuries from a motor vehicle collision is whiplash and it can be treated by a chiropractor.

Whiplash injuries can be accompanied by a headache and/or shoulder pain. Many people may not experience any pain immediately after the accident. Others, however, will have an instant headache, neck, upper and lower back pain as well as other symptoms.

This is the normal response of your body reacting to the trauma of being involved in an accident. Bruising and swelling may also appear within the first 12 hours of the accident. You could have serious injuries that don’t appear on X-rays.

Even a “minor” crash can result in serious injuries like ligament sprains. This can lead to chronic pain and disability if not treated properly. In fact, research shows that early treatment is the best way to prevent long-term symptoms. Chiropractic adjustments are effective because they help restore the healthy, normal function of your nervous system without the use of drugs or surgery.

Headaches / Migraines

Nine out of ten Americans say that they suffer from headaches. Some of these people experience headaches frequently. Some experience constant headaches that are very painful. These can even make a person nauseous. Ninety-five percent of headaches are tension, migraine, or cluster headaches. These types of headaches are not caused from a disease, but from something in your body that is not sitting correctly.

Whiplash

According to the American Chiropractic Association, one of the most common causes of neck pain is whiplash resulting from a car accident. A sudden forced movement of the head or neck in any direction and the resulting “rebound” in the opposite direction is known as whiplash. The sudden “whipping” motion injures the surrounding and supporting tissues of the neck and head. Muscles react by tightening and contracting, creating muscle fatigue, which can result in pain and stiffness. Severe whiplash can also be associated with injury to the intervertebral joints, discs, ligaments, muscles, and nerve roots.

I have been a chiropractor for over 25 years and our mission statement at Chiropractic Injury Center is to help patients feel safe and comfortable and provide them with a hands-on approach to healing.

A motor vehicle accident can be one of the most overwhelming and traumatic experiences a person can live through. My life experiences combined with my formal education and years of medical experience have made me sensitive to the challenges of my patients who are in pain.

I have embraced the country life here in Charlotte. I have 10 chickens; yes they have names, and enjoy the ‘free range’ life style at ‘McBattles Farm.’ I have been known to treat my patients to fresh farm eggs.

I have always ascribed to a holistic approach to health. Once I learned about the body and its functions while gaining my massage therapy license, it became clear that chiropractic care went hand in hand with a natural approach to healing.

I am a licensed massage therapist who graduated from Cayce Reilly School of Massotherapy in Virginia in 2010 and offer medical massage to our patients. I am also a licensed chiropractic assistant since 2014.

It gives me great pleasure to work with our patients who experience the trauma of a car accident and move through the healing process for the mind, body and spirit.

I have over 25 years in the insurance industry and decided it was time to make a change in 2017. I have always believed in chiropractic care and have enjoyed the benefits of massage therapy.

When it came time to find a new position, working in a chiropractic office seemed to be a natural fit. Since joining Chiropractic Injury Center in mid 2017, I have come to enjoy the relationships I have developed with personal injury attorneys and their paralegals.

In our office, we see patients on some of the worst days of their lives having been involved in a motor vehicle accident. It is extremely rewarding to see patients who come in for their first visit – scared, frightened and in a great deal of pain. Within a relatively short amount of time, Peggy and Dr. Trish have cared for these patients through a treatment plan that resolves all of their issues.
